The lemon and the mango? Or the mango and the lemon? We know that question sounds absurd, but trust us when we tell you the answer has long been debated in tea circles.

Some say, this mythical flavor combination was developed on the island of Rapa Nui (otherwise known as Easter Island) many centuries ago when a British ship loaded with citrus, wrecked just off, what was then a mango-rich island. People, who favour this story call the combination, Mango-Lemon.

Next are those in the Lemon-Mango camp. These people believe that lemons and mangos were first paired up on the island of Fiji by a travelling French surfer named Pierre, sometime around 1950, while seeking refreshment after a heavy winter swell.

Here at Branch & Vine, we decided to go with "Mango Lemon Kisses". Add hot tea to a 12oz/375ml acrylic glass filled with ice, straining the tea or removing the bags. Not all of the tea will fit, allowing for approximately an additional ½ serving. Sweeten and/or add lemon to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to increase the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted.
